We have already talked about NCYXDesign event – the one that will bring a lot of design enthusiasts from May 10th to 22nd in one of the most famous cities of the world – and today it’s the time of another design event deeply connected to the former platform: ICFF 2019 or International Contemporary Furniture Fair. The event is among the most awaited ones and will consist of the celebration of design’s innovation and technology coming from all the globe; moreover, this 2019 is a special year: ICFF will celebrate the 30th anniversary and there will be a lot of celebration (the design kind!). WHEN & WHERE
There are still a few days to organize yourself for your trip to New York: from May 19th to 22nd every professional and expert of the field will gather into the Javits Center, NYC. With over 900 international exhibitors from over 60 countries arriving to present their best design pieces and trends of the future, the North America bigger platform will focus its attention this year on integrated smart home and office technology via ICFF Connect. Besides, ICFF New York will also have special pavilions dedicated to regional design; including – The British European Design Group, Luxe France, Interiors of Spain, The Italian Trade Commission, Brazil, Romania, Austria, Norway, Scandinavia Poland, and a special Ventura New York.
WHAT YOU CAN’T MISS
Sponsored by Contract magazine, this pavilion is a new addition this year and will include brands of commercial spaces – showcasing the new trends from lighting, furniture, flooring, wall coverings, seating, and more. The participants are some of the best you could find: such as Arper; Humanscale and the 20 years of its “Human Chair”; Kartell, which updated some already known products; Loftwall, which is celebrating 10-year anniversary; Poppin, and Scandinavian Spaces and its partner brands such as Meteria, Nordgröna, and Blå Station.
VENTURA NEW YORK – THE DUTCH EDITION
Dutch contemporary design will be the center of celebrations during this event presented by Organisation in Design. The third edition will feature 17 Dutch designers will bring the unconventional and rule-breaking attitude – typical of their design mentality – to the North American territory. As Margriet Vollenberg, founder and art director of Ventura Projects explained: “In Holland, beauty does not happen by chance. We create in a very deliberate – albeit – freeway. ICFF GALLERY – CONFLUENCE OF ART AND DESIGN
ICFF Gallery will showcase the works of more than 60 artists and designers, from the internationally known to the emerging and local ones. The aim is to celebrate creativity and inventiveness, anyway, it comes alive.
ICFF STUDIO
After a 14-year partnership with Bernhardt Design, the new generation of young and emerging artists is ready to come forward and submit their innovative and unique creations, which will be judged by a jury of industry experts regarding the aesthetic, marketability and the ability to be mass-produced.
