Decorex<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0is an exquisite, imaginative design begins when stories have the space they need to flourish. Since 1978, renowned interior designers, artists, and creative minds have gathered at the show to curate theirs. Serendipitous moments and chance encounter that might just lead to enduring partnerships happen at\u00a0Decorex.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

1. Be OPEN Sound Portal<\/h4>\n

Inspired by the concept of sound as the \u2018next frontier of design\u2019, the\u00a0BE OPEN Sound Portal,\u00a0 is a big black rubberized ring, placed in the middle of Trafalgar Square.<\/p>\n

Visitors are invited to step inside the installation, to listen to \u2018finely-tuned audio technologies\u2019 which allow you to experience a very different environment created by sound alone. The portal will be open from 8.30am to 10 pm from 19 to 23 September, and admission is free.<\/p>\n

2. Mimicry Charis by Nendo<\/h4>\n

Once again, the\u00a0V&A\u00a0will be at the heart of the festival\u2019s activities. The museum will host Japanese design studio\u00a0Nendo\u2019s Mimicry Chairs installation, including the entrance, galleries, staircases, and corridors.<\/p>\n

Each chair will be modified so that it mimics the environment in which it sits \u2013 hence the name \u2013 with chairs appearing to \u2018climb\u2019 the stairs, and suspended in the entrance atrium.<\/p>\n

3. Prism by Keiichi Matsuda<\/h4>\n

Last but definitely not least, our final pick is Keiichi Matsuda\u2019s groundbreaking installation\u00a0Prism, commissioned by champagne brand Veuve Clicquot, which\u00a0will also be on display at the\u00a0V&A.<\/p>\n

The ambitious piece is made up of screens displaying live data taken from London\u2019s \u2018city dashboard, suspended in the V&A\u2019s uppermost cupola.<\/p>\n
