The powerhouse sneaker brand, Vans, behind a multitude of fun collaborations, just announced its latest line up in partnership with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the newest Vans\u00a0x\u00a0Van Gogh<\/strong> <\/em>Museum sneaker work of art collection.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Van Gogh Museum, which lives in Amsterdam, is a space dedicated to the legacy of the Dutch artist. Since its inception, it\u2019s sold a variety of products depicting Van Gogh\u2019s artwork in order to make \u201cthe life and work of Vincent van Gogh accessible to as many people as possible in order to enrich and inspire them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Featuring an array of clothing and sneakers, the Vans x Van Gogh Museum collection<\/strong><\/em> acts as an accessible representation of the late artist\u2019s works.<\/p>\n

Choosing four of Van Gogh\u2019s main bodies of work such as\u00a0Skull<\/em>,\u00a0Almond Blossom<\/em>,\u00a0Sunflowers<\/em>\u00a0and Van Gogh\u2019s self-portrait, the studies come to life across the vamps of the featured footwear silhouettes, tees, hoodies, backpack and hat, along with Van Gogh\u2019s human skull placed across each model with subtle details of the artist\u2019s handwriting and brush strokes hidden in a reimagined checkerboard print.<\/p>\n

Additionally, an ode to Van Gogh\u2019s drawing titled\u00a0Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman<\/em>\u00a0is printed across the Old Skool and a special Classic Slip-On that features excerpts from handwritten letters from Vincent to his brother, Theo.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, each model from the footwear collection is finished with custom footbed art along with the Van Gogh Museum and Vans logo lock-up, in addition to including a special hangtag that highlight historical facts behind each piece of Vincent Van Gogh\u2019s art.<\/p>\n

The entire collection will be available for purchase at Vans as well as the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and online, as well as select Vans retailers starting August 3.<\/p>\n
