\nBrandon Maxwell is an American fashion designer, television personality, director, and photographer. He is the founder and creative director of Brandon Maxwell, the luxury women\u2019s ready-to-wear label.
\nIn an exclusive interview, Maxwell confessed to Vogue Magazine that the fact that he missed fashion school in the early years of his carrier, caused him the feeling of imposter syndrome. That made him feel the urge for a bit more serious approach to his creations.<\/p>\n

2016 Runway<\/h3>\n

With power women as his starting point, Maxwell sent out sharply tailored separates in black, ivory, and a dusty rose, culminating in several over-the-top gowns. Nearly every look featured some element of ridged pleating, a motif derived from Maxwell\u2019s childhood practice of dressing up his sisters in bedsheets and fastening them with his father\u2019s cummerbunds.<\/p>\n

2019 \u2013 The End of an Era<\/p>\n

Maxwell\u2019s vivid palette leaned heavily on pinks and fuchsias and Nancy Reagan reds, as well as sunbursts of yellow and gold, and greens ranging from seafoam to teal. There was also a plainspoken quality to many of these garments\u2014the crisp white button-downs, the fly-front trousers, the dressy denim\u2014that added to the Lone Star State ambiance. All of the looks were executed with Maxwell\u2019s typical polish and his respect for the traditional proportions of natty American sportswear.<\/p>\n

2020 \u2013 Elegance in Manly Clothes and Men<\/h3>\n

SS 20 \u2013<\/strong> In one of his biggest collections, Maxwell presents more than 60 looks.
\nOn this runway he worked with fabrics with a sense of structure that he can shape via his canny tailoring\u2014and some of the more skin-baring looks didn\u2019t quite come off, especially in comparison to the cool, confident sexiness of, say, a decidedly modest caftan-shaped shirtdress in lipstick red silk.<\/p>\n

AW 20 \u2013<\/strong> After beeing under the enormous shadow of being Lady Gaga\u2019s stylist nearly four years ago, Maxwell has evolved his brand and settled into a comfortable stride of being a polished, tailored daywear designer.
\nHis Fall 2020 Ready to Wear collection, was at its strongest when his models were confidently draped in cozy fall and winter attire; a stark white, figure-hugging turtleneck dress, luxurious ensembles of matching shades of cream, from pants to sweaters to overcoats, a brilliant color story of greens showed on muted velvet pants capped with a lime green belt and matching coat and beanie.<\/p>\n

\n2020 \u2013 The Revelation<\/h3>\n

After all the serious elegance Brandon Maxwell proved to be capable of having more fun than we all thought.\u00a0 With trippy patterns, 70\u2019s inspirations, and an overload of vibrant colors, and glittery fabrics Maxwell prepared us a full summer glaze full of dazzle silhouettes and ready to have fun.
