The architect established\u00a0Arata Isozaki & Associates<\/strong>\u00a0in 1963, after the allied occupation when Japan had regained its sovereignty and was seeking physical rebuilding amidst political, economic, and cultural uncertainty from the decimation of WWII. He has won the\u00a02019 Pritzker Architecture Prize<\/strong>\u00a0in a ceremony at the\u00a0Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0France<\/strong>\u00a0thanks to his transnational and fearlessly futurist approach to design. With more than 100 projects, Isozaki is the 49th Japanese architect to receive the honor. \u201cThe City in the Air\u201d, in the Shinjuku neighborhood in Tokyo, Japan, is one of his renowned projects in the urbanism industry.<\/p>\n

3 \u2013 ATSUSHI KITAGAWARA\"The<\/a>\n<\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Kitagawara Thermal Architecture Research Institute<\/strong>\u00a0was founded in 1980 by\u00a0Kitakawahara Thermal<\/strong>\u00a0and reorganized into a corporation in 1982 and began full-scale design work. His link with\u00a0nature<\/strong>\u00a0is ever-enduring, as one can deduce by his magnificent work with the\u00a0Japan Pavilion<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0Milan International Exposition<\/strong>\u00a0in 2015,\u00a0Shibuya\u2019s cinema building Rise<\/strong>, completed in 1986. The architect also envisioned some conceptual\u00a0furniture designs<\/strong>, some of which are\u00a0pieces<\/strong>\u00a0that could very well come from an imaginative fantasy world of the highest order, a treat to both the eye and heart, proving that the creative landscape of his mind is quite\u00a0eclectic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

4 \u2013 FHAMS\"The<\/a>\n<\/h2>\n

Based in Kyoto,\u00a0FHAMS<\/strong>\u00a0is an incredible design team that has worked on a wide range of project types and scales such as\u00a0interior design, hotels<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0retail shops<\/strong>. The design company, founded by\u00a0Ryotaro Ando<\/strong>\u00a0in 2000, proposes designs by considering various aspects, both contextual conditions, and legal conditions, context, climate, and concerns. 6 \u2013 HASHIMOTO YUKIO<\/h2>\n

Ranging from\u00a0private restaurants, offices, retail<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0commercial spaces<\/strong>, to\u00a0hospitality, restaurants, cafes, clinics,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0banquets<\/strong>,\u00a0Hashimoto Yukio<\/strong>\u00a0has a very diverse project portfolio. His philosophy focuses on designing ambiance instead of the material, which allows him to create timeless and harmonious yet quite\u00a0minimalistic interiors<\/strong>, where the finest details are brought to our attention by a subtle play of light.<\/p>\n

7 \u2013 KANJI UEKI<\/h2>\n

\"The<\/a><\/h2>\n

Interior Designer<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Representative Director<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0Casappo & Associates<\/strong>,\u00a0Kanji Ueki<\/strong>\u00a0was born in Tokyo in 1945. After graduating from Keio University in Tokyo, Ueki went to Italy where he worked at the\u00a0RINASCENTE Department Design<\/strong>\u00a0section in\u00a0Milan<\/strong>. In 1971 he started working for\u00a0Aldo Jacober Architect Studio<\/strong>\u00a0in Milan, but in 1975 he moved to his homeland and established the top design office Casappo & Associates in\u00a0Tokyo<\/strong>. His remarkably simple yet striking design style transcends the\u00a0Asian minimalist vibe<\/strong>\u00a0most clients search for. 8 \u2013 KOICHI FUTATSUMATA<\/h2>\n

Koichi Futatsumata<\/strong>\u00a0was born in\u00a0Kagoshima, Japan<\/strong>. After graduating from the\u00a0Department of Engineering and Architecture<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0Kyushu Industrial University<\/strong>, Futatsumata set up a design unit,\u00a0CASE-REAL<\/strong>, and started his incredible professional career as an\u00a0interior designer<\/strong>. Thanks to his amazing design solutions in the areas of\u00a0space, architecture<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0furniture<\/strong>, Futatsumata has exhibited his work at various exhibitions domestically and internationally. In 2013, Futatsumata set up\u00a0Koichi Futatsumata Studio<\/strong>\u00a0where he developed his product design practice further.<\/p>\n

It was founded in 1995 by architects\u00a0Kazuyo Sejima<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Ryue Nishizawa<\/strong>, who was awarded the\u00a0Pritzker Prize<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a02010<\/strong>. The\u00a0renowned designer<\/strong>\u00a0has worked for\u00a0Interna Kagaya, Interior Design Office Nob<\/strong>, and\u00a0Xebec,<\/strong>\u00a0and he established Shigemasa Noi\u2019s design office in 1982. Today, he is known for developing various creative works focusing on the design of\u00a0store<\/strong>,\u00a0furniture<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0products<\/strong>. They believe that thinking in simple terms about how to transform the client\u2019s wishes into a functional, three-dimensional space brings warmth to the final product.<\/p>\n

Born on August 5 in 1957,\u00a0Shigeru Ban<\/strong>\u00a0is a Japanese architect, known for his innovative work with\u00a0paper<\/strong>, particularly\u00a0recycled cardboard tubes<\/strong>\u00a0used to quickly and efficiently house disaster victims. By giving figures to various human senses using materialistic elements such as light, Tokujin Yoshioka creates expressions that are unique and surpassing the concept of shape.<\/p>\n
