The wall tiles are enlarged reproductions of 18th-century Portuguese tiles custom painted by Linda Horning and Katherine Jacobus. Originating from the Arabic word zellige, this traditional hand-painted tile that can be found all over the country, from churches to houses and gardens and was often used to tell tales of Portuguese history. Portugal has adopted them like no other country has and in order to honour the Portuguese hand-painted tiles, Boca do Lobo created Heritage Sideboard. Covered in Azulejos, traditional hand-painted tiles and one of the most representative art forms of Portuguese culture, the architectural cabinet portrays different scenes from the country\u2019s Discoveries era.
