SHROFFLE\u00f3N<\/strong>, a Mumbai based\u00a0Architecture, Landscape and Interior Design Studio<\/strong>, is once again the name on everyone\u2019s lips, by bringing to life a luxury living<\/strong>\u00a0design project,\u00a0The Half Arc House<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Half Arc House<\/strong>, located in one of the most opulent skyscrapers in the heart of South Bombay, is rewarded with a stunning uninterrupted view of the Arabian sea on one end and the city on the other. The\u00a0design project,<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0complete with a lavish swimming pool and gym, captures the essence of\u00a0luxury living. The\u00a0Half Arc House<\/strong>\u00a0is mindfully designed to magnify the\u00a0exclusive lifestyle\u00a0experience.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0design project<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0gets its moniker from the environment that exists in it. The first\u2014a textured and painted arc\u2014is seen right where the entrance meets the main L-shaped living area, and frames that room. In the\u00a0guest bedroom<\/strong>, the arc presents itself within the teak wood and all black, back-painted glass cupboards. And the bow appears yet again in the\u00a0master suite<\/strong>\u00a0within the pink shelving unit behind the bed.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

However, it isn\u2019t just this idiosyncratic symbol that makes the\u00a0design project<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0lavish. Among those reasons is that, at 1,400 sq ft, this\u00a0city home<\/strong>\u00a0is intended for the use of just one occupant\u2014which is a luxury in itself. Add to that, as per the client\u2019s wish, the original three bedrooms have been broken down and converted into just two suites with rather generous layouts.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The client\u2019s brief was realised by creating an\u00a0expansive master suite<\/strong>, complete with a\u00a0master bath<\/strong>, a spacious\u00a0walk-in wardrobe<\/strong>\u00a0and a dedicated shoe room. Being the primary residence of a young and single businesswoman, the\u00a0modern apartment<\/strong>\u00a0has been curated to give a homely, feminine appeal with a quirky look and feel. This was achieved by using certain geometries\u2014the half arc, in particular\u2014as well as a rich yet restrained material palette, that works in contrasting pairs, in both colour and texture.<\/p>\n

\"Luxury<\/p>\n

Several sumptuous touches are crafted throughout the\u00a0design project<\/strong><\/em>. In the primary living area, surrounded by plush accents and accessories, and besides a cosy balcony, is a television set concealed within a primary shelving element. The shelving unit is the feature element of the space, with its\u00a0bespoke textured brass facade<\/strong>, designed to stand out against the ebony, half arc shelves behind it. With the shelving unit, the homeowner has the freedom to alter the facade of the room as per her requirements.<\/p>\n

The selected\u00a0furniture and furnishings<\/strong>\u00a0are all sourced from Europe, from the most covetable\u00a0design brands<\/strong>\u00a0in the world. Think\u00a0Boca Do Lobo, Tom Dixon, Baxter, Serip\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Reflex Angelo<\/strong>, to name a few\u2014all of which are unabashedly luxurious. These\u00a0global designs brands<\/strong>\u00a0have been paired with indigenous local\u00a0luxury brands<\/strong>\u00a0including\u00a0Scarlet Splendor\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Jaipur Rugs<\/strong>\u00a0and can be seen from the very moment one steps through the front doors.<\/p>\n
